The Pola Museum of Art will be holding “Wilderness – Night at Pola Museum of Art”, a one-off evening experience surrounded by the great nature of Hakone from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6. Come and savor a summer evening designed to capture the essence of this time and place.

A trip to the extraordinary – during Wilderness, you can surrender your body and mind to music.

DJ Set

London-based musician Hinako Omori will be the DJ for the night. This event will be the first solo DJ performance in Japan by this upcoming international musician, who has performed at  institutions such as London National Gallery, Tate Modern, and the Barbican Center.

Night Gallery Viewing

Exhibition rooms will be opened until 8:00 p.m. Visitors can view the collection and special exhibitions while touring the beautifully-lit museum. The curator of the current exhibition, “Philippe Parreno : Places and Spaces”, will also give a talk.

Food & Drink

Local hotels and cafes supporting the event will open  kiosks specifically for the event. Enjoy the one-off food and drink while immersing yourself in the evening’s ambience.

Night Walk

The outdoor ” Nature Trail” invites you into the darkness of nature to enjoy a walk in the forest. Along the illuminated path you can experience the mystery of the deep forest with multiple senses: Feel the gentle evening breeze on your face, breathe in the scent of the forest, listen to the rustling trees, and  sense the presence of life in the dark.

Hinako Omori is a London-based musician and composer who began playing piano at the age of five and went on to study sound engineering at university. She is well known for her mysterious and ethereal music compositions and live performances that combine analog synthesizers, field recordings, and her own voice. She has performed at the London National Gallery, Tate Modern, Barbican Center, ICA, and other museums in London. She has also toured and recorded with Ed O’Brien, Kae Tempest, Georgia, and Hikaru Utada.
