Collection Highlights!

2016.03.16 — 2016.09.04

Overview

This group of 15 Western paintings and Japanese Western-style paintings has been selected as representative of the Pola Museum of Art collection. The word ‘highlights’ has a dual meaning, refering both to bright relective areas, and also to particular points of emphasis and attention. Along with typifying a certain era and artist, each of the selected 15 paintings has its special place of importance and meaning within the Pola collection.

Claude Monet, Water Lily Pond, Oil on canvas, 1899

Wassily Kandinsky, Without Support, Oil on canvas, 1923

Okada Saburosuke, Kimono with Iris Pattern, Oil on cardboard mounted on canvas, 1927
